An occasional blog by Ross Wigham in no particular order. Meant to be irreverent but hopefully not irrelevant. There’s some stuff about comms, some stuff about work, some stuff about life as well as the type of stuff that makes me smile.
About me
I’m a dad of three and former journalist turned award winning communications pro who loves family, travel, Tyneside, Northumberland, football, tech, films and books.
I’ve written on everything from management advice to Sven Goran Eriksson for magazines such as Personnel Today, Travel Weekly, Recruiter, Global HR, Essentials, Web User, Director, Resourcing, Pay magazine, Training & coaching Today and Employers Law.
I’ve also worked as a freelance copywriter producing material for the likes of HSBC, BusinessLink and Sony
My second career started in local govt communications back in the North East where I’ve worked on campaigns such as My Angel 10 and Love Northumberland. I’m also the PR moment Communications professional of the year for 2012 & the current PSCA public sector communicator of the year.
I’ve spoken about this work at conferences and events around the country including the CIPR Northern conference and LGcomms.
I’m now working as a head of communications and marketing in the NHS.
