Ahoy, hoy North East bloggers.
There’s a new awards show in town and it looks like a brilliant (and free) way to get a bit of recognition for your online musings.
The regions first blogger awards have been launched by the folks at OPR in a celebration of the growing North East scene.
It’s great to see the developments and increasing profile in this area because I know from my own timeline (and my direct work in comms) that there’s loads of talent out there.
Blogging hasn’t quite taken off in the NE at the same pace as in some other areas – maybe because there’s still such a thriving local media scene or perhaps people have focused more on social media.
Anyway, it’s great to see this commitment to bloggers by PR in the region and I look forward to seeing some of the shortlists.
Many have predicted the decline of blogging over the past 18 months, but to my mind they’ve gone from strength to strength particularly in the professional an niche markets.
